The Soča Valley is an excellent starting point for learning about both Alpine Slovenia and the special features of Mediterranean Slovenia. Lovers of sports in nature from all over the world were the first ones to fall in love with the area of the emerald river.

Surrounded with moutains and a beautiful Soča river, the Valley offers amazing views on hiking paths and mountainbike trails, water activites (rafting, kayaking, canyoning), fly-fishing and paragliding.

History, culture & nature

Soca Valley has a rich history. You can visit museum in Tolmin, where you can learn a lot about the life in the Valley in the past. The biggest historical mark was left by 1st world war. Kobarid museum will take you back in the dark period.
Don’t miss the Javorca church and the Italian charnel house in Kobarid.

Soca Valley is often called the land of living water. Our house is located near the Idrijca river, 5 km away is the lake of Most na Soči, where you can take an easy walk around all the way to Tolmin and to the confluence of Soča and Tolminka river. Don’t miss Tolmin gorges, the lowest entry point to Triglav National park with its stunning canyon and  clean water.

The valley of festivals

Soca valley made its brand Soča festivalley,  becouse of the number of festivals in the region. Halamoye dance festival, Metaldays, Punk Rock holidays, Overjam reaggie festival, Sajeta creative camp and may more…

And let’s not forget the culinary. With Ana Roš of Hiša Franko ( world best female chef, 2016),  she put the Valley also on the map of food lovers.
